Ten Reasons A T-Shirt Is Important
Election day seems the perfect day for our inaugural blog post and with that we bring you a top ten list of why the t-shirt is important.
really, a t-shirt? yep. that piece of clothing that almost everyone has in their dresser drawer.
why, a t-shirt? it’s quite simple. what other garment conveys a message better than a tee.
rebellion.social likeness.branding.myth.hobby.tribal cohesion.idealogy.religion.music.sports.billboard.passion…the list of words goes on…
but, the above words are just a few that can be used to describe how someone feels or uses a tee. let me continue a top ten list of why we think the t-shirt is important:
1. a t shirt is common ground…
if you are at an event and someone is sporting either yellow/green or orange/black on their tee, who you will gravitate towards?
2. a t shirt is a comfy reflection of triumph…
if you are a survivor of cancer or other horrific disease you know how it feels to put on a shirt with the ribbon that signifies you won. whether a ribbon is pink, red, yellow or every color of the rainbow, a survivor can proudly display a battle won and/or raise awareness to the cause that fuels their passion.
3. a t-shirt sends a message and raises awareness…

4. a t-shirt is a comfy reflection of achievement…
have you participated in a warrior dash, color run, raft race, marathon or tiddly winks contest? enough said.
5. a t-shirt is the virtual middle finger to the establishment…
if you have teenagers at home or you were once a teenager yourself, you understand this one.
6. a t-shirt retains a memory of a moment in time…
the tee that is in the bottom drawer of your dresser that you haven’t worn in eons, but you know it is there and occasionally you come across it and are flooded with the memory of your favorite band, a lost love or maybe the best day ever with the one you are with.
7. a t-shirt is art…
simple or ornate. single color or multi color. the art on a tee is a reflection of the human inside it.
8. a t-shirt is a billboard…
whether the tee is adorned with your business logo, favorite micro-brew, or passage of scripture it sends your message and advertises to all that can see.
9. a t-shirt is social…
in the 1800’s, your hat was the fashion statement that helped distinguish social status. in the mid 1900’s the t-shirt began to take over in that department. the t-shirts that we wear show our preference of music, sports team, political affiliation, favorite movie, hobbies, and so much more.
10. a t-shirt is conveys passion…
see all of the above.
we love t-shirts at print specialties. not because they are our proverbial “bread and butter”, but because of the passion our clients have about their tee’s. From that passion, we in turn get to feed off of the joy, determination and sometimes just plain whimsy that comes from putting a logo, symbol or message on a tee.
keep us in mind for your next screen printing project and maybe we can start a new top ten list.
